Job Description

As an Associate in the Legacy Modernization team at Cognizant, your role involves working on consulting projects related to modernizing legacy systems. You will be responsible for various deliverables, including technical assessment of applications, tools development, and application data analysis. Additionally, you will be required to customize frameworks for different system applications based on their respective technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Actively participate in the implementation phase of projects, providing guidance and best practices to enhance the quality of deliverables to clients. - Prior experience in Modernization Projects or partnering with solutions such as Microfocus, Heirloom, Tmaxsoft, AWS Blu Age, GCP G4 would be advantageous for this role. Qualifications Required: - Hands-on experience in key technologies such as CA Gen, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS. - Knowledge of how CA Gen applications integrate with MQ for messaging and distributed systems like Java and .NET. - Familiarity with CA Gen Client Server Encyclopedia and Host Encyclopedia is also required. - Exposure to various cloud platforms and experience in evaluating products for legacy modernization are valuable assets. In this position, architecture skills play a crucial role, including the ability to conduct assessments, develop deliverables, and analyze AS-IS legacy systems. You should be able to visualize and propose solutions for legacy technologies, depict different types of architecture, and provide thought leadership in consulting projects. Technical delivery skills are essential for leading and managing development teams, providing architectural guidance, and potentially developing prototypes for complex solutions. Innovation and automation skills are highly valued, particularly in requirements gathering, tool development, and third-party tool evaluation for legacy modernization projects. Soft skills such as effective communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and client handling capabilities are important for this role. Additionally, knowledge of secondary skills like Assembler, PL/I, and various mainframe software is beneficial. Troubleshooting technical issues and utilizing tools like Xpediter for debugging are part of the responsibilities. Overall, as an Associate in the Legacy Modernization team at Cognizant, you play a significant role in driving modernization projects, delivering high-quality solutions, and leveraging a diverse set of technical and soft skills to achieve success.,
