Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in thermal and structural analysis for Defence/Aerospace applications, you will play a crucial role in predicting temperature distribution, heat transfer, and thermal stress in mechanical components and systems. You will utilize tools such as Ansys Icepak, Solidworks flowsimulation, and Flotherm XT to conduct thermal analysis and optimize cooling strategies to ensure components operate within specified temperature limits. Collaborating with design engineers, you will optimize product designs for thermal and structural performance while adhering to project timelines. Your responsibilities will include performing structural analysis through finite element analysis (FEA), fatigue analysis, and modal analysis to assess structural integrity and ensure designs meet performance and safety criteria. You will identify opportunities for weight reduction and material optimization without compromising structural integrity or thermal performance. Additionally, you will generate technical reports and presentations summarizing analysis results, insights, and recommendations for design improvements. In this role, you will support testing and validation efforts by defining test plans, analyzing test data, and correlating results with simulation models. Evaluating the impact of thermal stresses on structural integrity, you will recommend design modifications to improve performance and reliability. It is essential to stay current with industry trends, advancements in analysis techniques, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance analysis methodologies. To qualify for this position, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and possess 6 to 9 years of proven experience in performing thermal and structural analysis in Defence/Aerospace sectors. Proficiency with thermal analysis tools such as Ansys workbench (Linear & Non-Linear analysis) is required, along with a strong background in finite element analysis (FEA) and other structural analysis methods. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CREO & Ansys Space claim) for creating and modifying 3D models is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. You should be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating effective communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely. Your ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and presentations summarizing analysis methods, results, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and clients will be key to your success. Maintaining accurate records of simulations, assumptions, and boundary conditions used in analysis is also a fundamental aspect of this position.,
