CAD/CAM Design Engineer

As a Mold/Die Design Engineer at Umargaon, your main responsibility will be to design and develop dies, molds, and tooling for rubber and engineering components. This will involve creating detailed 2D and 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. You will need to ensure that your designs are optimized for manufacturability and efficiency. Collaboration with production and tool room teams will be key to validate designs and implement improvements. Additionally, you will be responsible for modifying and updating existing die designs based on feedback and production requirements, as well as supporting in troubleshooting die-related issues during production. It will also be essential to maintain organized documentation of designs, revisions, and BOMs. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop dies, molds, and tooling for rubber and engineering components - Create detailed 2D and 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks - Optimize designs for manufacturability and efficiency - Coordinate with production and tool room teams to validate designs and implement improvements - Modify and update existing die designs based on feedback and production requirements - Support in troubleshooting die-related issues during production - Maintain organized documentation of designs, revisions, and BOMs Qualifications Required: - Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool and Die Engineering In this role, proficiency in SolidWorks is mandatory for 3D modeling and die design. You should have an understanding of die/mold manufacturing processes and materials, as well as knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards. Your ability to coordinate with tool room and production teams for design validation and your problem-solving skills with a focus on practical implementation will be crucial. Although 2 years of experience in die/mold design is preferred, freshers with SolidWorks knowledge may also apply. Experience in rubber or polymer die design and exposure to CNC machining and CAM programming basics are considered advantageous.
