CAD Component Specialist

As a senior member of the CAD department library team, your role overview includes creating and updating component CAD schematic symbols and footprint geometry. You will collaborate with internal staff, PWB designers, department managers, component engineers, CAD tool administrators, and outside subcontractors to execute a variety of circuit board projects efficiently. The position also offers growth potential for a permanent role with managerial responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze component specifications to develop CAD libraries meeting customer requirements. - Create CAD library symbols/parts based on datasheets and specifications, often with team input. - Stay updated on new/emerging technologies, especially with smaller packages, higher pin count, and finer pitch. - Utilize working knowledge of EDA tools like Siemens/Mentor Xpedition and Cadence Allegro. - Understand and apply Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) concepts in creating CAD library parts. - Collaborate cross-functionally to address issues and provide solutions. - Identify opportunities for process improvements with guidance from colleagues. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. - 4+ years of experience in CAD library and/or PWB design. - Working knowledge of EDA tools, preferably Siemens/Mentor Xpedition and/or Cadence Allegro. - Familiarity with Agile or other PLM tools. - Proficiency in AutoCAD/3D tools. - Basic understanding of interpreting datasheets and engineering drawings. - Effective communication and collaboration skills for internal and external team interactions.,
