As a Principal Cable System Design Engineer specializing in Submarine Cable Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering submarine cable engineering for specified projects in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Your role will involve tasks such as wind farm layout, cable routing, cable sizing, and the development of technical documentation and decisions. You will also be involved in review and assurance activities, ensuring that design documentation and quality plans meet the required standards. Your expertise in submarine/subsea power cables and offshore wind, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, will be essential for this role. In-depth knowledge of HV submarine cable design, manufacture, and installation, as well as offshore wind farm electrical cable system design, is crucial for success in this position. Key responsibilities include providing engineering support for electrical system design during concept development and pre-bid stages, managing interfaces between submarine cable suppliers and project teams, and identifying and managing key engineering and delivery risks. You will also play a role in supporting supplier selection processes, tender evaluations, and contractor/vendor selection while ensuring compliance with relevant codes of conduct. Additionally, you will be expected to demonstrate good safe work practices, proactively promote safety measures, and identify Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks as needed. Collaboration with procurement teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders is essential for successful project delivery. You will also be involved in developing the wider supply chain of HV cable manufacturers and providing technical mentoring to junior team members.
