Business Unit Head - Agrochemicals & Fertilizers (East Zone, India)Location: Kolkata About the Role Result-Oriented Business Unit Head our Agrochemicals & Fertilizers operations in the East Zone of India . This leadership role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving significant growth, building high-performing teams, and cultivating market relationships. What You'll Do As the Business Unit Head, you will be the driving force behind our success in the East Zone. Your core responsibilities will include: P&L Ownership & Strategic Growth: Take full ownership of the East Zone's Profit & Loss (P&L). Develop and execute aggressive business strategies to achieve and exceed ambitious sales, revenue, and market share targets for our agrochemical and fertilizer portfolio. Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, staying ahead of industry trends and competitor activities. Market Leadership & Expansion: Deepen our market penetration by expanding and strengthening our distribution network. This means identifying, onboarding, and nurturing relationships with key distributors, dealers, and retailers . You'll be instrumental in unlocking untapped potential across the East Zone. Team Leadership & Empowerment: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team. You'll be responsible for setting clear goals, providing continuous coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Your leadership will empower the team to deliver exceptional results. Network & Stakeholder Management: Leverage your existing strong network and build new, impactful relationships across the agricultural ecosystem. This includes alliances with farmer associations, government bodies, agricultural universities, and key influencers to enhance brand visibility and product adoption. Operational Excellence: Oversee all commercial operations in the East Zone, from sales forecasting and inventory management to ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. You'll ensure efficient resource allocation and robust reporting to senior leadership. What You'll Bring Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag. or equivalent) is essential. A postgraduate qualification in agriculture or business administration (MBA) is a definite plus. Experience: A proven career trajectory with 15+ years of progressive experience in sales and business development within the agrochemical and fertilizer industry . A significant portion of this experience must be in a leadership capacity, managing a large team or a regional business unit. Networking Prowess: An exceptional, well-established network within the East Zone's agricultural community. You should have a verifiable track record of leveraging these connections for business growth. Regional Expertise: A profound understanding of the agricultural practices, crop cycles, farmer needs, and market dynamics specific to the East Zone of India . Leadership & Business Acumen: Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. You should be an outstanding communicator, negotiator, and a results-driven leader. Travel: Willingness to undertake extensive travel across the East Zone to meet business demands.
