Business Intelligence Engineer - Power BI

As a BI Engineer specializing in Power BI, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to facilitate business decision-making. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for dashboards and reports. Additionally, you will optimize and enhance existing Power BI solutions for improved performance and usability. Data analysis and validation will be a key aspect of your responsibilities to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Integration of Power BI with various data sources is crucial, and you will be expected to ensure seamless data flow. Working closely with data engineers and team members is essential to maintain data quality and consistency. Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards will also fall under your purview. Furthermore, documenting technical specifications, processes, and user guides for developed solutions will be part of your routine tasks. Providing training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices will also be an integral aspect of your role. To excel in this position, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Power BI development is required. Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service is crucial, along with expertise in Power Query for data cleaning and combining data from various sources. A strong understanding of Power BI's calculation functionalities, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), is essential. Experience with integrating Power BI with diverse data sources such as SQL databases, cloud data sources, and APIs is highly valued. You should possess excellent knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data to be used in Power BI. Proven ability to optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability is a key requirement. Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling is desired. Experience in facilitating report sharing and collaboration within an organization is beneficial. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential to effectively work with stakeholders and convey complex data insights through Power BI.
