Business Development Manager - Land Acquisition

Greetings from Fresh2Day Retail Job Title: Business Development Manager Land Acquisition (Supermarkets) Department: Business Development / Expansion Location: Chennai Experience: 5 to 15 Years Job Purpose: To lead and execute land acquisition strategies for Fresh2Day Supermarkets, ensuring timely identification, negotiation, and finalization of commercial spaces suitable for new store development. The role involves strong negotiation, legal understanding of lease agreements, and excellent liaisoning with landlords, local authorities, and legal consultants. Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate potential commercial properties across key markets for supermarket expansion. Conduct feasibility analysis based on location, accessibility, market potential, footfall, competition, and operational requirements. Lead negotiations with property owners, brokers, and agents for lease or purchase agreements. Finalize commercial lease or rental agreements in coordination with the legal and finance teams. Liaise with government bodies and local authorities for necessary permits, licenses, approvals, and clearances. Maintain a strong network of property consultants, landlords, and real estate professionals. Track and manage the entire land acquisition process including documentation, legal vetting, and registration. Coordinate with architects and internal stakeholders for site layout review and suitability. Support in resolving disputes or legal concerns related to property acquisition or possession. Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements related to commercial property acquisition. Prepare and present progress reports to senior management on pipeline, status, and closure of new properties. Requirements: Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PG in Real Estate, Business Development, or related field preferred. Proven 515 years of experience in land acquisition for retail, commercial, or supermarket chains . Strong knowledge of real estate market trends , lease laws, and commercial agreements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong local network and ability to travel frequently. Good understanding of liaisoning processes with authorities and regulatory bodies. Preferred Candidates: Experience in supermarket, QSR, or retail chains . Hands-on in lease & rental negotiations .
