Senior Underwriter Retail Commercial Property | General Insurance | 3-5 Years - Ahmedabad Summary: A great opportunity for experienced underwriters to join a reputed general insurance player, handling retail commercial property underwriting . The role involves underwriting Fire, IAR, Burglary, and SME property insurance policies for small and medium businesses like retail shops, offices, godowns, and housing societies. Location: Ahmedabad Future Employer: A reputed, fast-growing general insurance company Key Responsibilities: Underwriting and reviewing retail property insurance proposals for Fire, IAR, and Burglary policies. Assessing risks based on occupancy, construction, location, claims history, and exposure type. Recommending premiums, deductibles, warranties, and coverage conditions for retail business risks. Coordinating with agents, brokers, POSPs, and internal teams for quote issuance and documentation. Monitoring underwriting performance, claims ratios, and loss trends within the retail portfolio. Ensuring compliance with underwriting manuals, reinsurance guidelines, and regulatory norms. Requirements: 3-5 years of underwriting experience in retail commercial property insurance . Good knowledge of Fire, IAR, Burglary, and SME property products . Strong risk evaluation and decision-making skills . Proficient in handling insurance pricing and policy structuring . Comfortable with broker, POSP, and agent coordination . Well-versed with IRDAI guidelines and regulatory compliance . Whats in it for you?
