JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Junior Engineer-Civil Position Reporting to: (HoD Civil) Designation : Junior Engineer Business Unit: Simhapuri Department: Civil Working Location: Simhapuri Job Role The Junior Engineer Civil will be responsible for supervising and coordinating civil works within the power plant, including construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings, foundations, cooling towers, drainage, and other plant infrastructure. The role involves ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality norms, while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal departments for smooth execution. The Junior Engineer will also support preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor project progress, verify contractor bills, estimating and costing the projects and maintain accurate documentation to achieve cost, time, and quality objectives. Key Focus Area: Supervision of Construction 50%, Compliance, safety, quality norms adherence 20% Billings & Documentation 20% Coordination with vendors10% Desired Qualification & Experience Degree/Diploma in Civil from reputed institute 8-10 years of relevant work experience Understanding of compliance frameworks and quality and safety standards. Industry Type Exposure: Thermal, Renewable, Steel, Oil based and Other related Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed. Supervise day-to-day civil site works as per drawings and standards. Inspect and ensure quality of concrete, steel, and construction materials. Certify contractor work progress and support billing verification. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during all site activities. Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations teams for civil interfaces. Monitor resource utilization, manpower deployment, and cost efficiency. Prepare site reports, maintain documentation, and support audits. Functional Competencies: Knowledge of civil codes, IS standards, and QA/QC practices. Ability to read/interpret drawings, BOQs, AutoCAD, MS Office, and technical specifications. Familiarity with project planning tools. Skills in contractor management and measurement verification. Understanding of preventive maintenance of civil assets. Behavioral & Management Competencies: Strong team coordination and communication skills. Problem-solving approach with focus on safety and quality. Time management and ability to handle multiple site activities. Attention to detail in reporting and documentation. Effective leadership in managing contractors and workers.
