Job Description Turner & Townsend are looking for Assistant Cost Managers to join our award-winning, growing Cost Management team for Bangalore office There are long term secured frameworks with national and regional organisations within the following sectors - Commercial end user / fit outs corporate space The right candidate will have the opportunity to progress within our business and receive a competitive salary. Role within the project: The job role is intended to deliver pre and post contract cost management deliverables of MEP Systems. In the pre contract role, the candidate must be proficient to do Quantity take-off of various MEP systems at various design stages, capable to understand MEP design brief, competent to do BOQ validation and Pre Tender estimate at Tender stage. In the post contract, the candidate will required to do bill verification, payment certifications, site measurements and assisting cost manager for cost report preparation. Main job purpose: The candidate should have sound technical knowledge of all MEP systems and primarily he is proficient to compare BOQ items, pick rates of similar items and rate analysis. Also he should have good post contract site experience and he must be competent to make necessary assumptions during quantity take-off, list out missing details in the drawings, BOQ and specification, raising request for information based on the given tender details and proficient to understand technical specification and design brief. Should have basic knowledge on cost plan stages, procurement routes, contracts, change management and Risk management. As a BOQ & Drawing Validation Engineer at Magickhome, you will play a crucial role in the OSS (On-Site Services) team by ensuring the accuracy and precision of project documentation, including drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and quotations. Your responsibilities will involve validating project drawings, BOQs, and vendor quotes for OSS projects, across various disciplines such as modular furniture, civil works, and MEP. You will be required to read and assess multi-disciplinary drawings, including Modular & Non-Modular KWS, furniture, civil, electrical, and plumbing designs. Your role will also include verifying the quantities for each line item in the BOQ, identifying design discrepancies, potential on-site execution risks, and highlighting any missing components in the BOQ or quote. It will be your responsibility to coordinate clarification and finalize validated BOQs after resolving any design issues. Additionally, you will need to deliver detailed and error-free validation reports for stakeholder approval. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or a similar field, along with a minimum of 3 years of contracting experience (with at least 2 years in execution). You should have a strong ability to visualize site conditions, evaluate design feasibility, and possess a keen eye for detail with a focus on design and construction quality. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, and prior knowledge of home dcor products and services is preferred. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in conducting site inspections, preparing quotes, performing site measurements, and finalizing the Bill Of Quantities (BOQ) by validating drawings, BOQ, and the site itself. Your responsibilities will include understanding drawings from various disciplines such as furniture, civil, electrical, plumbing, etc., verifying quantities in the BOQ for each line item, identifying design discrepancies, and anticipating potential execution risks. You will also be required to validate drawings, BOQ, and the site, add any missing line items in the BOQ, conduct rate analysis for non-standard items, and ultimately finalize the BOQ after resolving any design discrepancies through thorough validation at the site. Moreover, you will be responsible for preparing the Bill Of Material (BoM) to facilitate the release of Purchase Orders (POs) to Labour Contractors (LCs) or Sub-Contractors (SCs). The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of contracting experience (1 year in execution and 2 years in Quantity Surveying) within residential or commercial projects. You should possess the ability to assess design feasibility, visualize on-site conditions, foresee execution risks, demonstrate a proactive approach, prioritize work effectively, exhibit a high level of ownership, have a strong learning aptitude, and hold a Diploma or B.
