Book typesetter

The Book Typesetter is responsible for formatting, laying out, and preparing manuscripts for print and digital publication. The role ensures that books are visually appealing, easy to read, and aligned with publishing standards while maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout the document.

Key Responsibilities

• Format and typeset manuscripts according to publishing guidelines and style sheets.
• Create and manage page layouts including margins, fonts, headers, footers, footnotes, and pagination.
• Ensure consistency in typography, spacing, alignment, and layout across chapters.
• Incorporate images, tables, charts, and illustrations accurately within the text.
• Proof layouts to identify and correct formatting errors, alignment issues, and typographical inconsistencies.
• Prepare print-ready and eBook-ready files (PDF, EPUB, MOBI).
• Coordinate with editors, authors, and designers to implement revisions.
• Ensure final files meet printer and digital platform specifications.
