As an Electrical Product Engineer at Cisco, you will work closely with hardware, mechanical, software design teams, manufacturing teams, and other multi-functional teams to ensure that the product is manufacturable while meeting cost, quality, and delivery requirements. You will play a crucial role in reviewing the design and architecture from DFM, component technology used, and EOL considerations. During NPIs, you will provide technical support for proto builds and ensure cost and quality targets are achieved. Additionally, you will manage change management activities during the sustenance phase and work towards meeting factory and field quality metrics. Value engineering activities will be a key focus to improve cost margins and ensure supply chain continuity and resiliency support. To excel in this role, you are expected to have a strong understanding of electronic product design and architecture, hardware interfaces including high-speed serial interfaces, PCIE, Ethernet, SATA, I2C, PCB design, stack-ups, Allegro, Valor, DFM, PCBA manufacturing, system build, NPI process, and the product development process from concept to launch phase. You should possess excellent driving capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive deliverables to closure. Your responsibilities will include performing new product and sustaining engineering, DFx activities (DFM, DFR, DFSC, DFT), value engineering, BOM structuring, BOM risk management, design tool proficiency, cost avoidance, design lab experimentation, technical lifecycle management, assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps, applying industry innovations, creating, analyzing, and releasing product documentation, manufacturing processes, FMEA, design diagnostic analysis, leadership skills, and providing directions for complex issue resolution.
