As a Diploma holder in Mechanical or Production, you will be responsible for managing a team of 10-12 workmen in the weld body shop. Your main focus will be on process improvement to enhance quality, productivity, and safety. You will have administrative control over the team, including manpower management, training, and skill upgradation. Achieving production and quality targets, as well as implementing loss recovery strategies, will be key aspects of your role. You should have hands-on experience in line operations, part loading sequence, and line data management. Efficiency analysis and continuous improvement through practices like KAIZEN will be essential. Training new workmen, conducting defect analysis, and implementing countermeasures are also part of your responsibilities. From a functional/technical standpoint, you should possess knowledge of welding jigs, safety checks, and quality control procedures. Familiarity with spot welding processes and basic understanding of robot teaching/programming will be advantageous. Knowledge of quality systems to maintain weld body quality, body accuracy, and sealer application and hemming processes in doors is required. On the behavioral side, you are expected to be target-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have excellent communication and presentation abilities. Your responsibilities will include conducting BIW structure studies, identifying quality concerns, and having knowledge of Body accuracy, Fix & Portable CMM machines, and Body scanning. You will also be preparing Jig Planning Sheets, Vender Checking fixture concept sheets for New Model Introduction, and reading Part Drawings and Jig Drawings. It is essential to be familiar with the New Model Quality built process, BIW Fit & finish requirements, and resolving problems related to Fit/Finish of White Body in various stages like Paint, Assembly, Vehicle Inspection, and NVH with respect to Body Accuracy/Part Accuracy & Process study. Experience in Closure/Hemming parts verification process using checking fixtures/scanning is required along with understanding CMM reports/Scanning Reports for confirming White Body and Sub component accuracy. On the technical/functional side, you should have knowledge of Weld Body structure, Fix & Portable CMM machines, Vehicle Body scanning, and hands-on experience in different trials during new model development. You must also have a basic understanding of Jigs/fixture concept, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Auto Weld Line operation, sheet metal Part accuracy check on inspection fixtures, and Roller hemming/Press hemming basics. In terms of behavioral skills, you should be target-oriented, possess analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication & presentation skills, be a team player, and have good networking skills.,
