This includes client dog training, customer support, handling other livestock, and managing the overall farm operations. Your expertise in canine behavior will be essential for developing effective training programs, while your management skills will ensure the smooth running of our boarding services and ranch activities. This role requires a blend of hands-on animal care, customer interaction, and operational management, making it ideal for someone passionate about both dogs and ranch life. Responsibilities Dog Training and Behavior: Develop and implement customized training programs for dogs, focusing on obedience, socialization, and behavioral modification. Address specific issues such as aggression, anxiety, and fear using proven techniques. Dog Boarding Management: Oversee the dog boarding services, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all boarded dogs. Manage the daily routines, including feeding, exercise, and health monitoring. Client Dog Training: Provide personalized training sessions for client dogs, both on-site and during boarding. Educate owners on training techniques and behavior management to reinforce positive behavior at home. Customer Support: Handle client inquiries, bookings, and follow-up calls. Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business. Livestock Handling: Manage and care for other livestock on the ranch, including feeding, health checks, and maintaining clean living conditions. Ranch/Farm Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ranch, including managing supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that the property is well-maintained. Coordinate with staff to ensure efficient operation and animal care. Training and Education: Lead group training classes, workshops, and seminars on various aspects of dog training and ranch management, catering to different skill levels and goals. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, boarding details, and ranch operations. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all activities, including dog training, boarding, and livestock handling, comply with health and safety regulations. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a dog trainer or canine behaviorist, with experience in ranch or farm management. Experience in handling livestock is a plus. Education/Certification: Certification from a recognized dog training or behaviorist program (e.g., CPDT, IAABC) is preferred. Experience in ranch management or agriculture is highly desirable. Skills: Strong knowledge of canine behavior, training techniques, and behavioral modification strategies. Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills. Physical Fitness: Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and to perform ranch management tasks that may require physical exertion.
