Job Title: Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Operator Location : Raipur Job Type : Full-time Department : Sustainability / Compliance Experienced year : 1- 10 years Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EPR Operator to manage, coordinate, and monitor the companys obligations under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks laid out by regulatory authorities such as CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) and SPCBs (State Pollution Control Boards). This role involves end-to-end operational responsibility for the collection, transportation, recycling, and documentation of post-consumer waste associated with the company’s products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing waste value chains, dealing with multiple stakeholders (recyclers, PROs, vendors, agencies), ensuring end-to-end traceability, and maintaining strict compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: 1. EPR Operations & Execution Plan and oversee the execution of EPR obligations across the entire waste value chain – from collection and aggregation to final recycling or disposal. Implement on-ground strategies for post-consumer waste collection in line with EPR commitments and targets. Coordinate with authorized recyclers, dismantlers, and collection centers to ensure traceable, compliant waste processing. 2. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation Ensure full compliance with EPR regulations as per the Plastic Waste Management Rules, E-Waste Management Rules, Battery Waste Management Rules, or other relevant laws. Maintain meticulous documentation of collection, recycling, and disposal activities including invoices, GPS tracking data, recycling certificates, and other proof of execution. Prepare and submit timely compliance reports, annual returns, and other filings on portals such as the CPCB EPR Portal or state portals. Assist during audits and inspections conducted by CPCB, SPCBs, or other competent authorities. 3. Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) , logistics providers, recyclers, and other vendors to ensure coordinated waste flow. Act as a point of contact for inter-departmental coordination (procurement, legal, finance, etc.) to align EPR strategy with organizational objectives. Conduct periodic meetings with external stakeholders and provide updates on progress and compliance. 4. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze data related to quantity and quality of waste collected, recycled, and reported. Generate monthly/quarterly MIS reports to monitor KPIs such as collection efficiency, geographic coverage, recyclability percentage, and compliance risk. Identify process gaps and propose improvements to increase operational efficiency and transparency. 5. Awareness & Training Support awareness campaigns for waste segregation and collection (especially in take-back programs or consumer-facing EPR models). Conduct internal training sessions for cross-functional teams to ensure organization-wide awareness of EPR mandates. Key Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of EPR frameworks in India (Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016; E-Waste Management Rules, 2022; etc.) Understanding of reverse logistics and waste collection supply chains. Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with external vendors and regulators. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and reporting. Familiarity with CPCB’s online EPR Portal, registration processes, and reporting workflows. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with data management/reporting tools. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science , Environmental Engineering , Sustainability , Industrial Engineering , Public Policy , or related fields. Master’s Degree (preferred) in Environmental Management, Waste Management, or Sustainability. Experience: Minimum 1–10 years of experience in EPR operations, solid waste management, sustainability compliance, or related fields.
