Key Responsibilities Blade Quality Control & Assurance Oversee the entire blade production process to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct inspections and quality audits at various manufacturing stages, including raw material checks, in-process inspections, and final quality assurance. Manage and perform mechanical and structural testing to verify blade strength, durability, and reliability. Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Supplier & Manufacturing Oversight Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure materials and processes meet quality standards and specifications. Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party testing labs for certification and validation of blade quality. Lead quality improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and minimize defects. Testing & Evaluation Supervise testing of blades under real-world conditions, including fatigue, stress, and environmental exposure tests. Ensure blades undergo static, dynamic, and accelerated life-cycle tests prior to deployment. Analyze test data and recommend design improvements or process adjustments. Documentation & Reporting Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and compliance reports to support audits and certifications. Prepare and present regular reports on blade performance, quality trends, and improvement plans. Ensure documentation complies with industry standards such as ISO and IEC. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support Work closely with R&D, design engineers, and production teams to enhance blade design and manufacturing processes. Provide technical guidance and training on blade quality standards and best practices to engineering and production staff. Act as a liaison between quality teams and other departments (e.g., project management, logistics) to ensure smooth project execution aligned with quality objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in quality control/assurance focusing on wind turbine blades or composite structures. Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes (fiberglass, carbon fiber) and blade production techniques. Experience in mechanical testing and material analysis. Familiarity with wind turbine blade design, testing standards, and regulations (IEC 61400-23, ISO 9001). Proficient in quality management methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on technical issue resolution. Preferred Skills Certification in Quality Management or Lean Six Sigma. Experience with wind turbine manufacturing or large-scale renewable energy projects. Knowledge of structural analysis software (ANSYS, Abaqus). Fluency in additional languages (e.g., German, Spanish) advantageous for international projects. Working Conditions Primarily office-based with periodic travel to manufacturing sites and wind turbine installations. Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments during inspections and site assessments. Some opportunities for remote work available
