About Us Black Augury is building advanced AI systems that understand and reason over complex legal concepts across multiple jurisdictions. To power these systems, we require high-quality, accurate, and context-aware legal research. We’re looking for a Legal Research Intern with strong analytical skills and a passion for law and technology to help us build globally reliable legal datasets and training material. Role Overview In this role, you will provide deep legal research support to our AI and product teams. Your core responsibility will be to interpret, re-state, and fact-check legal language (legislation, regulations, case law, contracts, etc.) from both local and international sources. Your research will be used to improve the accuracy and capability of our legal AI models. Key Responsibilities Perform structured legal research across multiple jurisdictions (domestic and international) Verify legal facts and interpretations across statutory law, regulations, and case law Break down complex legal language into accurate, AI-trainable summaries and annotations Compare and analyse differences between laws and legal concepts across regions Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure legality, accuracy, and ethical use of data Maintain a high standard of precision, confidentiality, and compliance in all outputs Requirements Currently pursuing or recently completed a law degree (LLB, JD, or equivalent) Excellent legal research skills and experience using legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw, Eur-Lex, AustLII) Strong ability to interpret and simplify complex legal and regulatory language Interest in AI, technology, legaltech, and the future of legal services Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Knowledge of international legal systems (e.g., EU, US, UK, APAC) is a strong plus What You’ll Gain Unique exposure to the cutting edge of law & artificial intelligence Opportunity to shape how legal knowledge is represented in next-gen AI systems Mentorship from lawyers, AI researchers, and product specialists Real-world experience navigating global legal systems Highly flexible, innovative, and mission-driven work environment Benefits Competitive pay up to ₹45,000 (pro-rated) based on experience and availability Flexible working hours and remote-friendly setup Hands-on exposure to cutting-edge AI + legaltech projects Direct mentorship from a multidisciplinary team (law, AI research, product) Opportunity to publish internal legal briefs and research notes Fast-paced, innovative culture where your work has real-world impact Potential to convert to a longer-term role
