Position Overview: The General Manager – Marketing (Processing Job Orders) will lead the marketing, business development, and customer relationship management functions for the fabric processing division. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, managing client accounts, coordinating processing orders, ensuring on-time delivery, and achieving profitability and growth targets. This role demands a strong background in textile processing (pretreatment, dyeing, and finishing) with proven expertise in customer handling, costing, production coordination, and market analysis . Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development & Marketing Strategy Develop and implement marketing strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets for the processing division. Identify potential customers such as garment exporters, fabric manufacturers, and traders requiring processing services. Conduct regular market analysis to assess trends in fabric processing, customer needs, and competitor activities. Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline for both narrow and wider-width processing orders. Promote the company’s processing capabilities, value-added finishes, and quality standards to new and existing clients. 2. Customer Relationship Management Serve as the primary contact point for all key customers and ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention. Understand customer specifications, fabric types, shade requirements, and finishing expectations. Address customer feedback, complaints, and quality concerns in coordination with the production and quality teams. Facilitate long-term partnerships and repeat business through transparent communication and dependable service. 3. Order Management & Coordination Receive and process job orders, verifying all technical and commercial details before confirmation. Liaise with the production planning, dyeing, and finishing teams to ensure timely execution of orders as per customer requirements. Track and monitor order progress, proactively communicating delivery schedules and status updates to clients. Coordinate with the sampling team for customer approvals and bulk production confirmations. Ensure adherence to delivery timelines and minimize reprocessing or rejection through proactive planning. 4. Costing, Pricing & Profitability Prepare accurate cost estimates based on fabric type, process sequence, chemical and dye consumption, and operational costs. Develop competitive yet profitable pricing strategies aligned with company goals. Negotiate terms, rates, and delivery conditions with customers to maximize margins while maintaining customer satisfaction. Monitor key financial metrics such as contribution per order, credit limits, and collection timelines. 5. Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with production, quality control, lab, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of customer orders. Participate in weekly production meetings to review order status and resolve bottlenecks. Work closely with R&D and technical teams to introduce new finishes, sustainable processing techniques, and innovative products. 6. Reporting & Documentation Maintain detailed records of enquiries, orders, customer communications, and performance metrics. Prepare periodic MIS reports covering order inflow, revenue, margins, customer performance, and delivery adherence. Present regular updates to senior management on marketing activities and business performance. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Achievement of monthly and annual sales targets (processing order volume/value) Customer satisfaction and retention rate On-time delivery performance Order profitability and contribution margins Growth in new customer acquisition and market penetration Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Textile Technology or Chemical Engineering; MBA in Marketing (preferred) Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of experience in marketing, sales, or business development in a textile processing / dyeing & finishing unit Strong knowledge of pretreatment, dyeing, and finishing processes for both narrow and wider-width fabrics Proven experience in handling processing job orders for domestic and export markets Skills & Competencies: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and commercial acumen Hands-on experience in fabric processing and costing Leadership ability to manage marketing teams and coordinate with operations Proficiency in ERP and MS Office applications Customer-focused mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and industry standards.
