BizGenie is a rapidly growing digital platform that connects freelancers and skilled service providers with global clients. We’re on a mission to transform the way work is found, managed, and delivered and AI is at the center of this vision. We’re looking for a lead AI Engineer to help us design, develop, and implement AI-powered features that enhance user experience, automate decisions, and personalize the platform at scale. You’ll work alongside our Laravel development team and product leads to bring intelligent, scalable features to life. What you will build: Automatically evaluate and rank freelancer proposals based on relevance to the project, past performance, and profile match. Suggest freelancers or projects based on user activity, preferences, and historical data. Improve logic for future integration of summarisation, AI-generated replies, and chat moderation. Help tailor dashboards, feed content, and marketing messages using machine learning. Implement similarity search using FAISS or Pinecone with OpenAI or HuggingFace models. Architect AI features as independent microservices with APIs consumable by our Laravel backend. Responsibilities Design and implement AI/ML systems for real-world use on BizGenie Work with product and engineering to scope and prioritize AI features Write clean, scalable Python code (FastAPI or Flask) for AI microservices Build API endpoints that integrate AI features with Laravel-based backend Run experiments, optimize performance, and monitor metrics for quality Stay current on the latest in GenAI, NLP, embeddings, and scoring algorithms Qualifications 5+ years of experience in AI/ML or data science roles Proficient in Python and key ML libraries (scikit-learn, PyTorch, Transformers) Hands-on experience with vector similarity, embedding models, and ranking algorithms Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.) Experience deploying AI models or services in production (Docker, cloud, CI/CD) Experience working with or integrating into Laravel or other PHP-based backends (via API) Excellent communication and ability to lead AI product strategy Preferred (but not required) Prior experience building AI features in freelancing, HR tech, or marketplace platforms Familiarity with frontend interaction logic for chatbots or AI interfaces Knowledge of fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
