The Technical Assistant takes over the administration and the control of the technical documentation. He/She is responsible to assure the administrative conformity of the technical documentation to the contracts and to internal quality standards as defined in the QMS (quality management system) of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill. Key Responsibilities The Technical Assistant is responsible of the document control for the project documentation. The Technical assistant works closely with the project team and all technical departments to perform the following tasks - Checking and ensuring the compliance of document Title block as per project / company standard requirement. Checking the compliance of the numbering, naming for all project documents created internally or externally for all the projects of ENS. Checking and starting the approval flow for all project documents in the project Sharepoint as defined in the QMS of the Sector. Maintaining the Master Document Lists (MDL) for all ENS projects. Verifying consistency between the DMS archiving platform and the MDLs of the projects. Performing administrative checks on project documents to ensure they meet the expected quality standards. Supply of a fast and reliable service to the execution teams to respect the document contractual delivery schedules of projects, Coherence between document data base and project management tools. Internal distribution of the technical documentation to the execution teams Archival storage of the technical documentation, Data encoding such as employees time sheets. Education & Experience 1-4 years experience preferably in technical or industrial context as Technical Assistant / Document Controller Graduate in Arts / Science Background, Profile , Skills and Competencies Organization : you handle several thousands of documents per projects - organization will be key Meticulous : you are responsible of the document control compliance and its approval flow - no mistake can be done Communication: you are fluent by writing and speaking in English to work with the different teams Repetitive tasks with high quality : you are not afraid to repeat several times the same activities and you are able to do it several times with the same quality. This includes the management of the piping interconnection as part of the study of projects or their implementation on the customer site, including equipment handling, safety, assembly and/or assembly. Create generic or specific parts, specs or update them in AutoCAD Plant 3D software. Management of the administration of the software, i.e. setting up or improving the configuration of isometrics, the output of 2D plans as well as the automation of routing piping Key Responsibilities Receives from the Project Manager or the Technical Project Manager the specifications necessary for the execution of his work. Creating and Updating Specs Creation of components (valves, instruments) Create and manager various templates (Iso, BOM, dwt etc) Based on established specifications (contractual, standards and/or codes), produces complex general plans and sub-assemblies. Integrates different 3D models received from internal and/or external customers, suppliers, etc., in order to obtain a general layout. Applies the rules, procedures and standards in force, whether internal or external to John Cockerill. Prepares documents (e.g. Atex zoning, isometrics, etc.). Prepares, in accordance with procedures, the answers to technical questions asked by internal customers. Participate in technical discussions, directly or indirectly, with internal customers or partners. Extraction of technical data that fall within its competences. In case of team coordination, coordinates, directs and verifies the work of other draftsmen: ensures consistency between the different projects, both technically and methodologically. Provides direct or indirect support to quality control, purchasing and the sales department. Establish EBOMs and parameterize the software (AutoCAD Plant 3D). May be required to generate PCF files for the performance of stress analyses. Education And Experience You have a higher education Diploma in industrial and technical design. You have experience 12-15 years in 3D industrial design & detail Engineering Experience. You are also dynamic, motivated, willing, open-minded and have a sense of initiative. You are methodical, rigorous and concerned with quality in the execution of your tasks. You master the INVENTOR, AUTOCAD (AutoCAD PLANT 3D, Navisworks and Vault is an advantage) You have solid knowledge in Structure Modeling. Additional skills with Piping, P&ID, Equipment Modeling, GA & detail drawing is added advantage). Knowledgeable in Detailed piping isometrics extraction is an advantage. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) Understanding of professional environment in the Energy field Basic knowledge of usual codes / norms and good practice rules (ASME and EN) Mechanical drawings (cutting, machining, welding, assembly…) EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials) Knowledge of mechanical properties of steel elements (ASME and EN) Reading of technical documentation Proficiency in English (Written / spoken). Operational Responsibilities ✅ Boiler Operation & Monitoring Ensure the CFBC boiler operates within design parameters, including temperature, pressure, and fluidization velocity. Monitor steam generation, fuel feed rate, bed temperature, and emissions. Maintain proper bed material circulation and fluidization. ✅ Start-up & Shutdown Procedures Supervise boiler startup and shutdown as per standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure safe ignition, heat-up, and load variations. Follow purge cycles before ignition to avoid unburnt fuel accumulation. ✅ Fuel & Air Supply Management Monitor fuel (coal, petcoke, biomass, etc.) feeding system and adjust as needed. Ensure optimal primary and secondary air supply for combustion efficiency. ✅ Ash Handling & Disposal Supervise the ash collection and disposal process (bottom ash, fly ash). Ensure proper functioning of ash handling systems (hydraulic/pneumatic). ✅ Water & Steam Cycle Monitoring Ensure proper feedwater treatment and de-aeration to prevent scaling/corrosion. Monitor steam purity and take corrective actions for any deviation. ✅ Emissions & Environmental Compliance Ensure adherence to environmental norms for SOx, NOx, CO emissions. Monitor ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator) and bag filters for efficient dust control. Ensure the proper functioning of Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems (if applicable). Safety & Emergency Handling ✅ Safety Compliance Ensure adherence to plant safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. Conduct risk assessments and ensure personnel safety near the boiler. ✅ Emergency Handling Respond promptly to alarms, equipment failures, or abnormal conditions. Take immediate corrective actions in case of bed temperature rise, pressure fluctuations, or trip conditions. Coordinate with maintenance teams during emergencies. ✅ Fire & Explosion Prevention Ensure safe handling of fuel to prevent furnace explosions. Conduct periodic furnace purging and carbon monoxide monitoring. Team Supervision & Coordination ✅ Shift Supervision & Team Management Assign tasks to boiler operators and ensure efficient shift operation. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before each shift. ✅ Coordination with Other Departments Liaise with electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation teams for maintenance support. Coordinate with chemistry/lab team for water and steam quality monitoring. Communicate with control room engineers for real-time operational adjustments. ✅ Training & Skill Development Train boiler operators on CFBC operation, troubleshooting, and safety. Ensure compliance with SOPs and best operational practices. Reporting & Documentation ✅ Operational Logs & Reports Maintain shift-wise logs for steam generation, fuel consumption, emissions, and any abnormalities. Prepare reports on daily performance, efficiency, and downtime analysis. ✅ Incident & Maintenance Reports Document any incidents, near misses, or safety violations.
