BIM Technician

As a BIM (Building Information Modeling) Specialist at nVent, you will play a crucial role in developing detailed Revit models for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) using nVent products. Your responsibilities will include producing accurate technical drawings and construction documents from Revit, as well as the development of Revit families to expand the BIM library to cater to customer needs. Collaboration with the BIM team, application engineers, and other stakeholders will be essential as you interpret and implement design specifications. You will also assist in the implementation and management of BIM workflows and standards within the engineering team. Additionally, you will coordinate with the technical lead to resolve any discrepancies or conflicts within the model, ensuring smooth coordination between different building systems. To be successful in this role, you should possess an associate's degree or technical degree in a relevant field (e.g., architecture, engineering, construction management) and have at least 3 years of BIM experience with proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. You should also be familiar with or willing to learn various software applications such as BIM360/ACC, Bluebeam, Dynamo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Tekla Structures. Your skills should include a strong understanding of building design principles and construction processes, the ability to create families including parametric, formula, nested, and type catalogs data, and the integration of Revit, ACC, Navisworks, and other Autodesk software with other applications as directed. Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are crucial for this role.
