BIM Modeler
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Strategy & Implementation
- Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) tailored to project requirements.
- Establish BIM protocols aligned with international standards like ISO 19650, LOD, COBie, and IFC.
- Define and manage workflows for model exchanges across disciplines (Architecture, Structural, MEP).
- Select and manage BIM platforms, tools, plugins, and Common Data Environments (CDE).
- Lead BIM implementation and coordination for Architectural, MEPF, and ACS projects.
- Prepare project estimations, cost analyses, and resource plans.
- Mentor and lead BIM coordinators, modelers, and technicians.
- Provide training and support on BIM workflows and software usage.
- Serve as the main BIM contact for project stakeholders.
Software & Technical Oversight
- Manage BIM software tools: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, Dynamo, Solibri, etc.
- Ensure BIM templates, libraries, and families are standardized and maintained.
- Lead clash detection and model coordination processes.
- Oversee federated model creation and data integration.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure model accuracy.
- Support pre-construction and construction teams with 4D/5D BIM workflows, quantification, and schedules.
- Facilitate regular BIM coordination and clash review meetings.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Conduct model audits and QA/QC checks to ensure compliance with standards.
- Ensure models meet Level of Detail (LOD) requirements and project milestones.
- Enforce company BIM standards, naming conventions, and data protocols.
Reporting & Deliverables
- Generate BIM-based deliverables including drawings, schedules, and visualizations.
- Prepare reports on quantities, clashes, and model progress for clients and internal teams.
- Ensure timely delivery of BIM content through project phases.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, MEP Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Science.
- BIM certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit), buildingSMART BIM Certification, RICS BIM, or Navisworks Certification preferred.
- ISO 19650 Awareness/Implementation certification is a plus.
Professional Experience:
- 8 to 12 years in AEC industry with extensive BIM process management experience.
- Experience managing BIM workflows on large and complex design and construction projects.
- Familiarity with international BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS 1192).
Technical Skills:
- Expert in Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP), Navisworks Manage, BIM 360/ACC.
- Experience with Dynamo, Solibri, Tekla, Synchro, or Civil 3D is advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), LOD, COBie, IFC, and CDEs.
- Scan-to-BIM and 4D/5D BIM experience is a plus.
Soft Skills & Leadership:
- Excellent communication and cross-disciplinary coordination skills.
- Strong leadership abilities to manage BIM teams and mentor junior staff.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, analytical mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
Additional Attributes:
- Knowledge of Digital Twin, GIS-BIM integration, or AI in construction is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or client meetings.
