Job Summary: The Design Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating all design-related activities for underground metro construction projects. This includes overseeing multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards, and facilitating smooth communication between design consultants, construction teams, and client representatives. Key Responsibilities: Design Management: Lead and coordinate the design process for underground metro stations, tunnels, shafts, and ancillary structures. Review and validate design deliverables from consultants and subcontractors. Ensure timely submission and approval of design documents in line with project schedules. Technical Coordination: Interface with civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and geotechnical teams to ensure integrated design solutions. Resolve design conflicts and ensure constructability of design outputs. Coordinate with BIM teams for model integration and clash detection. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, government authorities, and third-party reviewers for design approvals. Facilitate design workshops and technical meetings with stakeholders. Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs adhere to Indian and international standards (IS, IRC, MoRTH, NFPA, etc.). Monitor design quality and implement corrective actions as needed. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain design logs, approval trackers, and change management records. Prepare regular reports on design progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor s/Master s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering Minimum 15+ years of experience in relavent projects, with at least 8 years in underground metro works. Strong understanding of tunnel design, NATM, TBM, cut-and-cover methods, and station architecture. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and project management tools. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital design coordination.
