As a seasoned Procurement Manager with over 20 years of experience in the Chemical Industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of project activities through the uninterrupted supply of materials and machinery. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the selection of vendors, including contractors, equipment, and machinery suppliers. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for vendor selection, ensuring efficient performance, and monitoring their activities. Your expertise in project procurements will be key as you focus on obtaining materials in a timely manner while negotiating favorable terms with vendors. Developing a robust vendor base and engaging in third-party purchases will be essential to meet project timelines and quality standards. Issuing Purchase Orders, managing pricing negotiations, and addressing delivery-related issues will be part of your daily interactions with vendors. In addition to your proficiency in engineering items, electrical components, and mechanical spares for machines, you will be responsible for procuring a wide range of equipment such as chillers, reactors, valves, and pumps. Your knowledge of cost reduction strategies and rationalization techniques will contribute to effective budget management within the procurement process. As a leader in the Purchase Department, you will have managed a team of more than 5 individuals, demonstrating your ability to coordinate and delegate tasks effectively. Your role will involve regular reporting to the management through detailed Management Information System (MIS) reports, providing insights into stock availability and other relevant facts. To excel in this role, you must hold a Mechanical Degree, preferably with an MBA in Supply Chain Management. Your academic qualifications, combined with your extensive experience in procurement leadership, will be essential in driving successful project outcomes within the Chemical Industry.
