Job Description for Belt Jointer – Sponge Iron Division (SID):
Department: Mechanical / Maintenance
Experience Required: 7– 10 Years (preferably in Sponge Iron / Steel / Cement / Mining Industry)
Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade

Job Summary:

The Belt Jointer will be responsible for maintenance, repairing, and joining of conveyor belts in the Sponge Iron Division. The role ensures smooth functioning of belt conveyors, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out hot and cold vulcanizing of conveyor belts as per requirement.
• Inspect, repair, and replace damaged conveyor belts, fasteners, and joints.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of belt conveyors.
• Ensure proper alignment, tensioning, and splicing of belts for smooth operation.
• Monitor belt conditions and identify wear, cuts, and damages in advance.
• Operate vulcanizing press, belt cutting, and grinding tools safely.
• Maintain records of belt joints, replacements, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with mechanical and production teams during shutdowns and breakdowns.
• Follow all safety procedures during maintenance and hot work.
• Ensure minimum downtime and support uninterrupted production.

Skills & Competencies:

• Hands-on experience in hot and cold vulcanizing of conveyor belts.
• Knowledge of different belt types (fabric, steel cord, rubber).
• Ability to handle belt splicing tools and vulcanizing machines.
• Understanding of conveyor system operation in heavy industries.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
