This will involve month-end ledger activities, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and providing inputs for various reporting needs, including preparing Stat accounts for entities and corresponding audit. To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills: - Finance/Accounting qualification/degree, with CA preferred but not mandatory. - Strong financial acumen, accounting, and reporting skills. - Ability to comprehend and analyze financial information, including balance sheet and P&L. Basic knowledge of IFRS9 and Financial instruments is a plus. Additionally, highly valued skills may include: - Willingness to simplify processes, establish controls, and manage risks within the team. - Accountability, independence in operations, and adept at issue resolution. - Effective communication, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn. - Proficiency in Excel, handling large datasets, and quick adaptation to financial systems like SAP, Hyperion, Alteryx, etc. Your performance may be evaluated based on critical skills essential for success in this role such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills. This position will be based in Chennai. **Purpose of the role:** To oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. **Accountabilities:** - Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards. - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and reporting on these risks to senior management. - Develop and maintain a strong internal control system to safeguard assets, prevent fraudulent misreporting, and ensure accuracy of financial data. - Implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures for consistent and effective financial practices. - Manage financial systems and software applications, collaborating with IT for integration with other enterprise systems. - Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, providing support to other departments in their preparation and review. - Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for audits and examinations. **Assistant Vice President Expectations:** - Provide advice and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness. - Lead a team in complex tasks, setting objectives, coaching employees, and appraising performance. - Demonstrate leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to excel. - Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions. - Consult on complex issues, provide advice to support issue resolution. - Mitigate risks, develop new policies/procedures to improve control and governance. - Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively. - Communicate complex information effectively and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
