As a Public Health Counselor located in Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, and Datia (Madhya Pradesh), your primary responsibility will be to provide counseling and health education to adolescents and youth. This includes conducting educational sessions on healthy lifestyles, hygiene, and disease prevention. Additionally, you will address psychological issues and work towards promoting positive behavioral changes among adolescents. Community outreach is a key aspect of this role, where you will engage with local communities to raise awareness about health and well-being. This involves organizing and participating in various community-based activities such as health camps, school programs, and youth empowerment sessions. Your role will also include mobilizing adolescents and youth to attend counseling and other health-related programs. Collaboration and networking with healthcare providers, teachers, and community leaders will be essential to ensure a holistic approach to public health initiatives. You will also be responsible for providing referral and follow-up services to ensure that adolescents have access to required support services. To excel in this role, you are expected to have at least 1 or 2 years of experience in counseling, social work, or public health, preferably with adolescents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to build trust with adolescents and community members. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with experience in community mobilization and health education activities. Proficiency in local languages, especially Hindi, and a willingness to travel within districts are also required.
