Role Overview The Modern Trade Sales Manager West Region will be responsible for achieving sales, visibility, and profitability through Modern Trade partners such as Reliance Retail, D-Mart, Star Bazaar, Spencers, Nature’s Basket, and other regional modern trade chains . The role involves strong account management, distributor coordination, trade marketing execution, and leading a team to deliver business objectives. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Achieve sales and growth targets across Modern Trade in the West region. Expand distribution and ensure deeper penetration across key MT accounts. Negotiate annual contracts, margins, and visibility agreements. Key Account Management Build and sustain relationships with category managers, buyers, and regional MT partners. Ensure product listing, availability, visibility, and activation in Reliance, D-Mart, Star Bazaar, Spencer’s, Metro, etc. Track secondary sales, offtake, fill rates, and shelf share. Trade Marketing & Execution Implement in-store promotions, activations, and visibility programs. Ensure flawless execution of national and regional campaigns. Track ROI on trade spends and shopper engagement initiatives. Business Operations Work closely with supply chain teams and distributors for smooth replenishment and deliveries. Manage receivables and ensure timely collections. Provide regular competitor insights, category trends, and market feedback. Team Management Lead and motivate sales executives/merchandisers across the region. Drive structured market visits and execution discipline. Key Requirements MBA/Graduate with 5–8 years of FMCG sales experience , with at least 3 years in Modern Trade. Strong exposure to managing key MT accounts in the West region (Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP, Goa, Rajasthan) . Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills with modern trade chains. Strong analytical, planning, and execution abilities. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
