The role involves managing teams, ensuring test compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate vehicle performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. This role bridges the gap between engineering design and real-world performance validation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise EV testing activities including vehicle-level and subsystem-level validation for performance, durability, safety, emissions (if hybrid), thermal, and regulatory compliance. Oversee testing of key EV systems: battery packs, BMS, electric powertrains, inverters, onboard chargers, DC-DC converters, thermal systems, and regenerative braking. Prepare and approve detailed test plans, timelines, and resource allocations based on program needs. Guide a team of engineers and technicians in executing tests at proving grounds, labs, and field conditions. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, calibration, software, homologation, quality) to ensure testing objectives are met. Review test data, identify deviations, and lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning. Ensure tests meet applicable standards and regulations such as AIS-038, AIS-156, ISO 26262, UNECE R100, WLTP, and GTRs.
