job Role Database administrator Job Description: As a Database Administrator , you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database systems to ensure high availability and performance. You will play a key role in supporting our mission-critical applications and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL/EDB databases, ensuring high availability using tools like pgbouncer and BART. Manage Oracle Database 19c environments, including RAC and Data Guard configurations. Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. Collaborate with IT and development teams to support database needs and resolve issues. Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security. Provide technical expertise and guidance on database architecture and best practices. Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and insights on database status and improvements. Must-Have Qualifications: At least 10 years of relevant industry experience as a Database Administrator. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/EDB databases, including high availability tools like pgbouncer and BART. Expertise in Oracle Database 19c, including RAC and Data Guard. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work in different time zones as needed to support global operations. Telecom industry exposure and understanding of its unique database requirements. Good-to-Have skill : Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for data integration and replication. Exposure to at least one NoSQL database, such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
