Job Description : We are seeking a skilled Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to design, implement, and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other cloud based disaster recovery tools to ensure robust data protection, business continuity, and high availability for our critical workloads in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment. Key Responsibilities : - Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Recovery Services Vault. - Implement backup and recovery processes for virtual machines, SQL databases, file systems, and other mission-critical workloads across Azure and hybrid environments. - Architect and configure disaster recovery solutions for workloads running in Azure and on-premises environments, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. - Automate backup and recovery processes using PowerShell or Azure CLI to ensure smooth operations and reduce manual intervention. - Develop scripts for scheduled backup jobs, verification of backup integrity, and automated failover and failback testing. - Implement monitoring solutions to ensure continuous protection of data across multiple Azure subscriptions and regions. - Manage backup jobs and disaster recovery plans for virtual machines, databases, and applications, ensuring backups run as scheduled and recovery plans are up-to-date. - Proactively manage backup retention policies and alerting mechanisms for any backup failures, ensuring timely resolution. - Collaborate with other IT and business units to develop, implement, and test business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies. - Perform regular disaster recovery tests and simulate different failover and failback scenarios to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans. - Support the creation of disaster recovery documentation and procedures for different Azure workloads and applications. - Ensure that backup solutions comply with organizational data protection policies and industry standards (e. , GDPR, HIPAA). - Implement encryption and data masking for data in transit and at rest within Azure backup solutions. - Configure retention policies and ensure that the backup solutions adhere to organizational policies on data retention, ensuring that critical data is protected while following legal compliance. - Implement disaster recovery solutions that integrate on-premises and Azure-based workloads, creating hybrid and multi-cloud solutions to support cross-platform continuity. - Utilize third-party backup solutions (e., Veeam, Commvault, NetApp) integrated with Azure to complement native Azure services and provide enhanced backup and recovery capabilities. - Leverage Azure Blob Storage, Azure Disk Storage, and Azure Files to implement scalable and cost-effective backup solutions. - Configure storage policies, tiered storage options, and data replication strategies to ensure efficient backup and recovery processes. - Continuously evaluate and optimize backup and recovery solutions, ensuring that they meet the evolving needs of the business and technology landscape. - Identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and bottlenecks in the current backup and recovery processes and recommend improvements. - Work with cross-functional teams, including Cloud Engineers, System Administrators, and Network Engineers, to ensure seamless integration of disaster recovery solutions within the broader infrastructure. - Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and help them understand Azure-based backup and disaster recovery best practices. - Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for team use and future reference. Technical Skills Required : - 6 to 8 years of experience working with Azure Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions. - Strong hands-on experience with Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, Recovery Services Vault, and related tools. - Experience designing backup solutions for virtual machines, SQL databases, file servers, and mission critical workloads in Azure. - In-depth knowledge of Azure Storage Services, including Blob Storage, Disk Storage, and Azure Files. - Proficiency in PowerShell and Azure CLI for scripting and automation of backup and recovery processes. - Knowledge of backup encryption, retention policies, and data protection best practices. - Strong understanding of business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for cloud based workloads. - Familiarity with third-party backup tools like Veeam, Commvault, or NetApp integrated with Azure

- Must have a minimum of 10+ years of strong Backup engineering experience in information technology with heavy specialization in Veeam and Backup technologies. - Extensive experience on Veeam Backup and recovery, Veeam one, Veeam Enterprise manager Veeam backup failure, Veeam back up configuration on multiple environment such as on-prem, Azure, AWS etc., Iron-mountain veeam backup and Tape library. Extensive experience and knowledge in the design, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of : - Veeam Backup and Replication - Veeam Enterprise Manager - Veeam ONE - Veeam Cloud Connect - Veeam Service Provider Infrastructure - Veeam Iron Mountain backup management - Veeam Tape Backup management - Azure Native backup - Extensive experiences with Backup reporting and inventories. - As needed basis Configure, install Veeam backup infrastructure, Virtual and physical endpoint backups. - Should primarily have hands on experience with Veeam Backup Tool. - Must have hands on working experience on Windows OS and worked on VMware ESXi / Hyper-V environment with basic knowledge of Cloud Computing. - Strong Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. - Able to perform advanced technical troubleshooting and resolve problems in a timely manner. - Should have implemented backup strategies for SQL DB, File system and image level backup in the physical infrastructure environment and/or in a cloud environment. - Develop and maintain technical and user documentation pertaining to backup policies, reporting and restoration of data for File System, Application data and database backup. - Configuring and scheduling veeam backups, file system and application backups and troubleshooting backup failures by taking appropriate steps. - Performing backup monitoring, diagnostics, complex root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent future service interruptions. - Manage online data backups and the overall execution of retention policies. - Reviewing the logs and troubleshooting the errors. - Planning DR drills & troubleshooting Disaster Recovery issues. - Evaluate all plans and perform tests in disaster recovery process. - Run all pro-active checks pertaining to backup environments. - Backup performance fine-tuning and media management. - Restore data from backup repositories when requested. - Understanding the client requirement and design the solution which meets the RTO, and RTO as per the BCP. - Provide technical support for business application backup and restoration in coordination with business application owners. - Extensive experience on Veeam Backup and recovery, veeam backup failure, veeam back up configuration on multiple environment such as on-prem, Azure, AWS etc. - Manage M365 compliance, security, and backup solutions.
