Designation: Senior Infrastructure Engineer Location: Ahmedabad /Gandhinagar/ Pune Shift: Rotational Experience: 7+ years Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced L3 Storage and VMware Expert to join our IT Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing storage systems and VMware environments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in storage solutions, VMware virtualization technologies, and a proven track record of supporting enterprise-level environments. Key Responsibilities: Storage Management: Design, configure, and maintain enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, and DAS). Implement and manage storage policies, including data replication, backup, and disaster recovery. Monitor storage health, capacity planning, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and scalability. Manage and troubleshoot storage-related issues and incidents at L3 level, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution. Configure and manage storage area networks (SAN), storage devices (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, Qumulo Hyperconverged), and backup systems. VMware Environment: Administer VMware vSphere and ESXi environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. Deploy and maintain VMware vCenter Server, vSphere clusters, virtual machines (VMs), and templates. Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot VMware performance issues, including storage integration, networking, and resource allocation. Design and implement VMware high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions using tools like vSphere Replication, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), and VMware vSAN. Participate in capacity planning and optimization for VMware environments. Incident Management & Support: Provide L3 support for complex storage and VMware-related incidents, acting as an escalation point. Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage and virtualization issues, ensuring timely resolution within agreed SLAs. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for storage and VMware environments, including configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity, and health to inform leadership and drive improvements. Project Management & Implementation: Lead or participate in the design and implementation of storage and VMware-related projects. Collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies and solutions into the existing infrastructure. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in storage and virtualization. Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems to enhance performance, security, and reliability. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, EMC Proven Professional) are a plus. Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS) and VMware environments. Strong experience in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN. Expertise in storage devices and technologies such as Dell EMC, Qumulo Hyperconverged and others. Experience in backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Veritas, CommVault, etc.). Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell or other scripting languages is desirable. Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues across storage and VMware systems. In-depth knowledge of storage protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, FC, and SMB. Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including VMware tools, vSphere, vSAN, and vMotion. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Preferred Qualifications: VMware VCP (VMware Certified Professional) certification. EMC, NetApp, or similar storage certifications. Experience with cloud storage platforms and hybrid environments. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated experience engaging global stakeholders. Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills, capable of translating market data into actionable product insights and strategies. Experience working with globally distributed teams, particularly collaborating effectively with stakeholders based in the U.S. Desired Skills Prior experience managing enterprise backup or deduplication products. Technical depth and familiarity with storage infrastructure and software-defined storage architectures. Strong customer orientation with a track record of effectively representing the voice of the customer within product decisions.
