Backend Support Engineer

**Role Overview:** You are sought after by a Series A funded California based Software Development Company to take on the role of a Support Engineer. Your responsibilities will revolve around backend debugging, production triage, and performance optimization of AWS-hosted Node.js, GraphQL, and MongoDB stack. This position is crucial in ensuring uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities:** - Diagnose, debug, and resolve backend issues in Node.js and GraphQL services on AWS platforms like Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, and CloudFront - Write, optimize, and analyze MongoDB aggregation pipelines for various operations - Collaborate with QA teams during pre-release testing and participate in QA test cycles - Review logs and metrics to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks - Work closely with distributed teams to ensure continuous support coverage - Contribute to postmortems, documentation, and long-term reliability improvements - Participate in on-call rotations and maintain strong communication during incident response **Qualification Required:** - Deep hands-on experience with MongoDB aggregation frameworks and query optimization - Proficiency in Node.js (Express / Apollo Server) and GraphQL schema or resolver design - Experience with AWS services like Beanstalk, EC2, CloudFront, S3, and ELB - Familiarity with logging and observability tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Datadog - Strong analytical and debugging mindset - Clear communicator across distributed teams - Ownership-oriented with a focus on stability and long-term solutions - Comfortable working in US primary hours with defined India-time overlap for collaboration - Adaptable to startup environments and eager to learn through direct product exposure and QA involvement - Prior experience in SaaS or multi-tenant systems is a plus - Exposure to microservices or event-driven architecture is advantageous - Understanding of data security and compliance standards such as SOC-2 and GDPR (Note: The above details are related to the job opportunity provided by Uplers" client - A Series A funded California based Software Development Company.
