Backend Software Engineer

Zolvit is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend systems that power our core platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging problems at scale and contribute to a product that has the potential to empower millions of businesses in India. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails, NodeJS, and Java. You will also contribute to the evolution of our microservices architecture, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance. Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to best practices and coding standards will be crucial. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, participation in code reviews and design discussions, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for automation and continuous delivery are also part of the role. Monitoring and optimizing the performance of backend systems, along with championing a quality-driven development approach through testing, and staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in backend development are essential. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in backend software engineering, proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or Java, and a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns are required. Hands-on experience in designing and implementing microservices at scale, familiarity with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch, as well as knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes are important. Experience with AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines and tools, computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and a proactive and collaborative work approach are also necessary. A passion for building high-quality software, continuous improvement, and experience working in an Agile environment are preferred. Bonus points will be awarded for experience with AWS, Redis, Kafka, exposure to building and deploying ML models in the cloud, and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Skills required for this role include Ruby on Rails (ROR), NodeJS (Node.js), Java, MongoDB, Elastic Search, and Agile/Scrum methodology.,
