Backend Lead Architect

As a Senior Backend Lead, you will be responsible for driving the architecture, development, and deployment of scalable backend systems and services. Your deep expertise in SQL and SQL architecture, backend development using Node.js and Java, microservices architecture, and modern cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and MongoDB will be crucial in leading a team of engineers, defining backend standards, and ensuring best practices across development, testing, and deployment. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and secure backend services. - Architect and optimize relational database systems with strong SQL performance tuning. - Design and implement distributed systems with Kafka for event-driven architecture. - Drive adoption of containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes. - Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and/or Java. - Define and enforce best practices around backend development, CI/CD, testing, and monitoring. - Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams. - Mentor and guide junior engineers; conduct code reviews and technical training. - Own end-to-end delivery from planning to production release. - Ensure high availability, reliability, and maintainability of backend systems. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. - Expert-level knowledge in SQL and SQL database architecture (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.). - Proficient in Node.js and/or Java (Spring Boot). - Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB. - Strong understanding of Kafka for data streaming and messaging. - Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Experience in designing scalable microservices and service orchestration. - Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
