Backend Developer - Perl

As a Backend Developer - Perl Lead, you will be responsible for developing information systems through the design, development, and installation of software solutions. Your role will involve building new software solutions, maintaining existing applications, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives. You will also be expected to create, review, and update technical documentation, stay updated on relevant new technology and best practices, and write tests to validate code function. To excel in this role, you must have a thorough understanding of Perl and/or Go, experience with writing high-performance SQL using PostgreSQL, and a demonstrated proficiency in system architecture. Familiarity with databases, knowledge of the product development lifecycle, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and comfort working in a Linux environment are essential requirements. Your responsibilities will also include executing bug fixes, measuring the results of implemented solutions, participating in troubleshooting/triaging of issues, and documenting them appropriately. Additionally, you will be involved in the incident management process as needed to support overall issue resolution and system restoration. Providing regular status updates that are consumable by leadership and the team is crucial. The tech skills required for this role include proficiency in Perl, monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Tick, and databases like PostgreSQL. Familiarity with Memcache, RMQ, and Jenkins will be beneficial. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
