Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices in Chennai, this role requires the ability to handle day-to-day financial transactions, prepare accurate reports, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Operations: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and on time. Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Month-End and Year-End Closing: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist in month-end and year-end financial closings. Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Compliance and Taxation: Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, as applicable. Prepare Income tax returns, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Prepare and file monthly/Yearly GST tax returns,. Prepare and file TDS returns. Reporting and Analysis: Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits. Provide accurate documentation and ensure adherence to audit requirements. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency. Stay updated with industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent is a plus). 3+ years of experience in accounting or Well qualified fresheres with good academic track record will also be considered. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, SAP or similar tools) Zoho Experience will have added advantage Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards and regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
