Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and technically sound Presales Engineer to join our team, who will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing suitable solutions, and supporting the sales team with technical expertise. The ideal candidate should have be familiar with Industrial Automation, IoT, PLC systems, Edge Solutions, and IT-OT integration, and must be able to bridge the gap between technical teams and manufacturing clients. Key Responsibilities: Engage with prospective customers to understand their business processes and pain points in manufacturing operations. Collaborate with the sales team to define customer-specific solutions using IT-OT, Edge Computing, IoT, MES, and PLC-based technologies. Create and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution architectures. Draft detailed technical proposals, architecture diagrams, BOM, effort estimation aligned with customer requirements. Participate in RFP/RFI responses, POCs. Liaise with engineering and product teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and scalable. Act as a key technical advisor during sales discussions and negotiations. Stay up-to-date with industry trends in Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, IIoT, and digital transformation. Maintain a knowledge base of solutions, success stories, and competitive positioning. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's/Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial, or Computer Engineering. Proven experience (3+ years) in a presales, application engineering, or solution architecture role in the manufacturing or automation industry. Good understanding of: PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider) SCADA/HMI systems OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus protocols Edge Computing platforms (e.g., Node-RED, Kepware, Ignition Edge) MES platforms and industrial data handling IoT platforms and cloud integration (Azure, AWS, etc.) Cybersecurity fundamentals in OT environments Experience in IT-OT convergence projects and digital transformation in manufacturing. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to write clear, concise, and technically detailed documentation. Good to Have: Experience with Industry 4.0 frameworks, ISA-95, and ISA-88. Familiarity with analytics dashboards, BI tools (Power BI, Grafana), and data historians. Exposure to manufacturing domains like automotive, FMCG, pharma, or discrete manufacturing. Certifications in automation systems, cloud platforms, or industrial cybersecurity.
