As a Mechanical Engineer with 8-10 years of experience (BE) or 10-12 years of experience (Diploma), specifically in Structural Steel, you will be responsible for various quality control activities. You should possess NDT Level II certification in UT, RT, MT, PT and have knowledge of AWS D1.1 / IS Code. Your key responsibilities will include the preparation of Quality Control Plans (QCP) when necessary, performing inspections as per approved QCP, reviewing and potentially establishing new Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), witnessing welder qualifications, ensuring qualified welder records, conducting fit-up checks, weld visual inspections, dimensional inspections, and reviewing NDT reports according to the approved QCP. Additionally, you will be involved in painting inspections, marking/tagging checks, updating structural fabrication records and reports, ensuring the use of calibrated instruments, maintaining records of instrument calibration, dispatching all reports electronically or physically as required, and conducting any other activities as per the QCP.
