AVP Financial Control

As an Assistant Vice President Financial Control at Barclays, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. You will play a key role in the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, compliance with relevant accounting standards, and identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and accounting records following relevant accounting standards - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and reporting to senior colleagues - Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data - Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices - Select, implement, and maintain financial systems and software applications in collaboration with IT colleagues - Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, and provide support to other departments in their regulatory reporting - Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for audits and examinations **Qualifications Required:** - Qualified Accountant (CA) - Strong academic background with a minimum of a first-class honors bachelor's degree from a reputable institution - Experience in month-end or quarter-end reporting or control environment - Strong Excel skills Joining Barclays will give you the opportunity to collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions, lead a team, and contribute to policy development.
