Role Overview: You will be joining Synchrony as an AVP, Data Protection Engineer, responsible for driving an enterprise-wide data discovery program to safeguard and secure the organization's data. Your role will involve managing a team within the Information Security organization and collaborating with cyber security teams and key business stakeholders to define data discovery strategy and roadmap. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build effective data discovery classifiers to protect and safeguard the organization's data. - Lead and manage a team of contractors supporting data discovery efforts. - Support the Data Protection product owner in defining the intent, roadmap, and strategy for data protection and data discovery. - Act as a subject matter expert to assist in solving data protection challenges. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Security, Engineering, Application Development, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years equivalent work experience. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in data discovery.
