AVP, Business Intelligence Developer

Role Overview: As an AVP, Business Intelligence Developer at Synchrony, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability across Operations. You will work with internal stakeholders to acquire and refine business requirements for business intelligence solutions in the financial industry. Your role will involve working in the Apache Spark framework and its machine learning library (Spark ML) to build scalable NLP pipelines using Python and PySpark. Key Responsibilities: - Identify insights and opportunities for increased efficiency and growth across functions in operations. - Build and analyze metrics for business performance measurement, management, QA enhancement, and improvement. - Provide advanced analytics and experimentation support by applying statistical techniques to solve business problems. - Demonstrate technical leadership in data extraction, manipulation, dash-boarding, visualization, and analytical/statistical/data mining techniques. - Deliver user-friendly and informative dashboards and recurring reports to meet business needs. - Create, optimize, and automate Spark NLP pipelines to process large volumes of text data efficiently. - Extract relevant features from text data to enhance the performance of NLP models. - Assess the accuracy of NLP models and identify areas for improvement. - Connect Spark NLP pipelines with other data processing systems and applications. - Identify innovative opportunities to drive performance improvement, efficiency, and cost savings. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in any discipline and minimum 5+ years of Business Intelligence experience within financial services, banking, or retail finance. In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of Machine Learning experience within the mentioned industries. - Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing. - Minimum 2+ years of experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
