As an Application Security Specialist with 8 to 10 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of applications through a variety of key responsibilities. You will be responsible for conducting various types of security testing, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST). Additionally, you will perform Mobile Application Security Testing and API Security Testing to protect against OWASP Security risks and ensure applications are resilient to real-world attack vectors. In terms of vulnerability management and threat mitigation, you will identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities through Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Testing (VAPT). You will also focus on mitigating vulnerabilities aligned with the latest OWASP Top 10 risks and assessing vulnerabilities in accordance with OWASP Application Security Verification Standard (ASVS). Furthermore, you will use Threat Modeling to predict, identify, and mitigate potential security threats early in the development lifecycle. Your role will also involve securing cloud environments hosted on AWS and Azure, complying with standards such as CIS Benchmarks and NIST Cybersecurity Framework. You will ensure data privacy and protection compliance with GDPR and HIPAA in cloud implementations and implement security controls and frameworks for cloud applications and infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring application and infrastructure compliance with standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR, as well as conducting regular assessments to align with industry compliance and regulatory requirements. You will work on integrating security practices within the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by automating security checks and remediation. This involves collaborating with DevOps teams to integrate security tools and testing into the CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Azure DevOps and automating security testing and monitoring to support agile development cycles. In terms of security architecture and best practices, you will design secure application architectures to address OWASP Top 10 risks and API-specific threats, advocate and enforce secure coding practices, and integrate OWASP ASVS principles and Threat Modeling to enhance application security. Furthermore, your role will involve leadership and training aspects, where you will lead security assessments, mentor junior team members, and conduct workshops and training sessions on various frameworks and security practices. Required skills and qualifications include technical proficiency in legacy and modern technologies, cloud skills, security and compliance knowledge, security testing expertise, DevSecOps and SDLC integration, and soft skills such as communication, leadership, and collaboration. Preferred certifications for this role include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT), AWS Certified Security -- Specialty, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
