CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Roadway Design Engineer familiar with Bentley OpenRoads and Autodesk Civil 3D tools. You will be responsible for planning and designing project deliverables in adherence to Middle East and US DOT standards. Joining our Transportation team in Bangalore, you will develop concept and detailed roadway construction drawings and other infrastructure-related designs for diverse projects. Working under the guidance of the Senior Project Engineer/Manager, you will execute tasks independently or as part of a team. Interaction with onshore PM/Engineers is expected to meet project requirements within set schedules and budgets. Key Competencies/ Skills: - Proficiency in design software like OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ProjectWise. - Hands-on experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation for design drawings in line with international standards. - Knowledge of AutoTURN/AutoTrack. - Experience with tools such as Infraworks or Concept Station is a plus. - Strong command of BIM360/digital/data analytics software. - Ability to generate plans, profiles, corridor models, detailed cross-sections, site grading, and earthwork quantities using design software. - Familiarity with preparing Signage, Markings, and Traffic Control Plans. - Proficient in producing technical reports, progress reports, and presentations. - Implementation of QA/QC procedures as per company policy for coordinated designs. Minimum Qualifications: - Masters degree in Transportation Engineering/Roadway Technology/Highway Engineering. - 8+ years of professional experience in roadway project design and documentation. - Experience in international projects for both US and Middle East. - Knowledge of International Roadway Design Guides (AASHTO, DMRB, QHDM, MUTCD or similar). - Strong organizational skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and local authorities guidelines. As a Traffic Engineer, your main responsibilities will include performing Junction Calculations or Pedestrian Analysis based on provided requirements and sample spreadsheets. You will also be required to conduct Swept Path Analysis using specified vehicle libraries for various projects. Additionally, creating Drawings and Layout Designs for reports and different tasks will be part of your daily tasks. Moreover, you will be responsible for preparing Temporary Traffic Management Drawings according to specific project requirements. To qualify for this role, you must hold a degree in Civil/Traffic/Transport discipline and possess a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in traffic engineering, road/layout design.
