Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Effluent Treatment Plant Operator to manage the treatment of industrial wastewater at our activated carbon manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining ETP systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and optimizing treatment processes. This role is critical to our sustainability efforts and smooth plant operations. Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor all units of the Effluent Treatment Plant, including primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment systems. Maintain optimal performance of mechanical, chemical, and biological treatment processes. Conduct routine checks on pH, TDS, BOD, COD, flow rate, and other critical parameters. Operate dosing systems and maintain inventory. Record plant data and maintain logbooks, reports, and treatment records. Troubleshoot operational issues and report abnormalities to the supervisor/engineer. Ensure compliance with local pollution control board regulations and safety guidelines. Assist in preventive maintenance and cleaning of tanks, pumps, filters, and pipelines. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure minimal effluent load variations. Qualifications: Education: Diploma in Environmental Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering B.Sc. in Chemistry / Environmental Science Certification (Preferred): ETP/STP Operator Training Certificate from recognized institution Knowledge of ISO 14001 and EMS is a plus Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in operating ETP, preferably in chemical, pharma, or activated carbon industries Technical Skills: Basic understanding of chemical dosing, pump operations, flow meters, and lab analysis Familiarity with ETP instrumentation and automation (PLC/SCADA) preferred Ability to interpret environmental norms and statutory compliance requirements Soft Skills: Attention to detail and responsibility Good communication and record-keeping skills Ability to work independently and in team settings . The Safety Officer will be responsible for enforcing health and safety regulations, promoting safe practices, and ensuring environmental compliance in line with hazardous material handling and process safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, especially in high-temperature and chemical-handling zones. Monitor and manage fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and chemical spill response protocols. Oversee proper storage and handling of raw materials like coal, coconut shells, chemicals, and activated carbon products.
