Shall co-ordinate with CPCL manufacturing and the contractor for releasing the pipe line at the earliest and identifying the locations at which the blinding, hose connections and flange wedge openings to be done. Physically present at the site while carrying out the first hot work in each and every pipe line for safety. Monitor the progress of work by joint wise for each and every pipe line which is recommended for replacement / Modification. Shall follow up with CPCL Inspection for obtaining clearance for Fit-up, root welding, final welding, DP test, Radiography, Stress relieving and hydrotest. Candidates shall obtain and understand the details of jobs to be followed up in his shift from the Shift Turn over log book maintained by the Outsourced Engineers and also from the CPCL Engineer to whom he is reporting. Visit the plant and check the exact jobs which is in progress and provide necessary input for the continuation of jobs without any resource constraint. If there is any follow up is required from CPCL Engineer, the same has to be brought into his notice immediately and the progress of work should not suffer. Safety is primary and the should have a constant vigil and any safety violation to be immediately set right and brought to the notice of the CPCL Engineer and also the Safety Engineer (Outsourced). Progress of the job for each and every equipment for which he is supervising and monitoring the job should be written clearly in the Shift Turnover Log book by mentioning the time of the start of the activity / completion of the activity. Also, at the end of the Shift, the summary of the jobs completed (No. of joints of Welding, SR, RT, Hydrotest etc) for all the pipe lines by indicating the numbers in the format provided in the Shutdown cabin. Apply advanced structural analysis and design techniques using STAAD Pro and related tools to optimize material use and minimize cost. Collaborate closely with piping teams to ensure structural designs are seamlessly integrated into overall plant and skid configurations. Develop and implement standardized modular pipe rack designs for consistent integration into engineering workflows, reducing on-site fabrication needs. Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to align structural designs with plant layouts, both within internal design centers and in coordination with clients. Perform structural load analysis for wind, seismic, and snow conditions, providing accurate load data for foundation design. Conduct comprehensive rigging and lifting studies to support the safe handling of large, preassembled structures. Execute transportation feasibility studies for road and sea transit of modular skids and structural assemblies. Assist application engineering and proposal teams during front-end engineering design (FEED) stages, including FEL-2 and FEL-3, by providing BOQs and preliminary design inputs. Oversee drafting teams to ensure accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings derived from structural calculations. Design anchor bolts and foundation supports for pipe racks, heavy equipment, and modular structures. Conduct site visits as necessary for inspection, verification of structural installation, and troubleshooting. Qualifications & Skills: Strong working knowledge of American structural design and construction codes such as AISC, ASCE, AWS D1.1, and ASTM/ASME material standards. Familiarity with European codes (e.g., EN1090) is a plus. Proficient in applying IBC, UBC, and ASCE 7 for load estimation (wind, seismic). Understanding of Progressive Design-Build methodologies and project lifecycle deliverables for both pre- and post-contract phases. Experience with FEL-2 / FEL-3 stages in generating early-phase engineering outputs and estimates. Hands-on expertise in STAAD Pro, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD 2D, Revit, and Autodesk BIM360. Strong communication skills suitable for supporting global project teams. Experience with ERP platforms like SAP is advantageous. Role Summary The Technical Lead is responsible and accountable for the process, mechanical engineering and coordinating design activities of conventional water and wastewater systems. Job Description Have basic understanding of P&ID and is able to read heat and mass balance diagrams. Has basic understanding in pretreatment, filtration and post treatment Review and Approve P&IDs and provide mark ups per project specification and mass balance diagram. Fully understand the requirement and impact of heat and mass balance diagram and interpret on P&ID line flows. Perform sanity checks of P&IDs w.r.t. pressure, flow, storage level requirements, MOC detailing, dosing studies, product fact checks for mechanical packages Review and Approve sizing and velocity check calculations for different fluid applications Ensure correctness of P&ID and incorporate as sold requirements to customer on the P&IDs w.r.t to proposal engineering. Review and Approve technical package for critical commodities likes valves, instruments, specialty items such as bellows, ejectors Review and approve pump sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, multistage pumps, etc Review and approve blower sizing calculations for different application categories like centrifugal, reciprocating blowers Perform and display technical acumen while performing evaluation - engage with vendors, seek new technologies, products, look at cost saving. Negotiate with vendors on technical evaluations Review alignment of technical bid evaluations to encompass project requirements. Review and Approve material take off from PIDs, facility arrangement drawings or hand sketches Review and Approve material take off with piping specifications Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress. Review and Approve Fabrication Drawing-Puddle Pipe, Spools, beam, hanger, lifting modules Review and approve insert plate drawings Lead a project team with mechanical, designers & drafters Align, monitor & control project matrixes like schedule, budgets Ability to face customer, regions at various project milestones Own the detail engineering at an overall project level and resolve customer comments, installation and commissioning comments. Coordinate design interfaces with the appropriate Core Engineering Team to ensure a cohesive design result. Conduct design review meetings to ensure the completeness and the accuracy of engineering deliverables and ensure designs comply with relevant work instructions. Maintain accurate and accessible project records, which conform to quality procedures. Travel, including international travel, is required as per project requirement.
