Role & responsibilities This role is responsible for space sales and sponsorship acquisition for exhibitions organized or supported by IEEMA, across designated territories in India and overseas. The position requires experience in trade fairs and exhibition sales, including client engagement, market mapping, and revenue generation. • Achieve defined targets for space sales and sponsorships within stipulated timelines. • Strategize, plan, and execute initiatives to consistently meet or exceed assigned sales goals. • Proactively build and maintain a comprehensive database of regional companies relevant to the business. • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the power sector to tailor trade fair offerings that effectively address industry-specific needs and trends. • Acquire and expand industry knowledge to effectively engage in informed discussions with prospective exhibitors and identify high-potential leads. • Exhibit persistence and professionalism in cold calling, with a focus on reaching and engaging decision-makers. • Represent the organization at relevant conferences and seminars to network with industry stakeholders and promote a positive reputation for IEEMA. • Collaborate with counterparts in other organizations to establish a robust and reliable flow of market intelligence. • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with exhibitors based on integrity, trust, and mutual respect. • Maintain transparent and honest communication with clients, ensuring all commitments are met in a timely and professional manner. • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and results oriented environment. • Uphold the principle that a sale is only considered complete once the payment has been successfully collected. • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, taking ownership of new projects without reliance on legacy systems or processes. • Coordinate closely with technical teams to ensure that exhibition spaces meet all technical specifications and exhibitor requirements. • Oversee the logistics and technical arrangements related to booth setup, utilities, and on-site services to ensure smooth execution of trade fairs. • Stay updated with industry standards and innovations in trade fair technology to recommend improvements that enhance the exhibitor and visitor experience. • Analyze exhibitor feedback and sales data to identify trends and recommend strategic adjustments to enhance future trade fair offerings. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to trade fair installations and operations, coordinating with relevant authorities as necessary. • Exhibit exemplary conduct and professionalism within the workplace, contributing to a positive profile of the Trade Fairs Department. • Ensure strict adherence to the IEEMA Code of Conduct in all professional engagements. Preferred candidate profile The ideal candidate will be a motivated and results-oriented professional with a strong understanding of or motivated to understand the electrical and electronics industry. We are looking for someone with: The Role The Ideal Candiddate Educational Qualifications: • A bachelor's degree is required; a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is highly desirable. Professional Experience: • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in corporate sales, concept selling, or the sale of exhibition and conference sponsorships. • A seasoned sales professional with a consistent record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. • Prior experience in successfully launching and selling a new exhibition would be considered a significant advantage. • Demonstrated expertise in managing trade fair operations, including exhibitor engagement and sponsorship acquisition, to ensure successful event execution. Skills & Competencies: • Proficient in territory mapping and lead generation, including cold calling and engaging with key decision-makers to close sales. • Demonstrated ability to develop effective sales strategies, plan comprehensively, and deliver results independently. • Extensive experience operating in highly competitive market environments. • Strong knowledge of trade fair sales cycles and sponsorship models, with the ability to customize offerings to meet exhibitor and industry needs. • Excellent persuasive, presentation, and communication skills, particularly in engaging with senior and C-suite level executives. • Technologically adept, with working knowledge of contemporary communication platforms, promotional tools, and sales enablement technologies. Personality Traits: • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven, with a strong understanding of the exhibition, trade fair, and event sales sectors, including sponsorship acquisition. • Possesses strong corporate relationships and an ability to build and maintain long-term client partnerships. • Professional, articulate, and adaptable, with a strategic mindset and a commitment to excellence in execution. • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex event logistics effectively.
