Associate/Principal Hydraulic Modelling Engineer (Wastewater)

You will be working closely with the engineering teams on wastewater and drainage studies, from feasibility through to detailed design stages. Your responsibilities will include supervising Graduate Engineers on various wastewater network modelling projects in line with client requirements and reviewing/checking their work. You will set the technical direction for modelling studies while liaising with the lead business, resolve technical modelling issues on projects, support and develop junior modelling staff, and liaise with lead business and other team members to produce good design solutions as per best design practice. You will work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design and build a profile in the industry while keeping up-to-date with innovations and developments. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with the engineering teams on wastewater and drainage studies - Supervise Graduate Engineers on various wastewater network modelling projects - Set the technical direction for modelling studies and resolve technical issues - Support and develop junior modelling staff - Liaise with lead business and other team members to produce good design solutions - Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure design integrity - Build a profile in the industry and keep up-to-date with innovations and developments Qualifications Required: - B.E in Civil Engineering and MS/ M.Tech in Water Resources / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University - Chartered Engineer - Experience with InfoWorks ICM SE and InfoWorks CS for model build, verification, and solution development - Sound technical knowledge and experience in wastewater network model updates - Significant experience with MapInfo GIS package - Experience with flood alleviation schemes and integrated ID / 2D modeling - Experience with SUDS, Sewer rehabilitation, InfoNet, and water quality modeling - Resource management / line management experience, project management of modelling projects, and programming scopes of work will be a plus - Familiarity with international codes, standards, and practices related to the UK water industry Additional Company Details: Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy with a team of over 20,000 experts working across the world in more than 50 countries.
