The Opportunity: Agoda is seeking hands-on Development Managers who possess unique knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of highly scaled web products and mobile applications. The ideal candidate should be a strong leader capable of guiding the engineering team to surpass existing standards and achieve new milestones. Role Responsibilities: As a Development Manager at Agoda, you will: - Maintain ownership of mission-critical systems. - Lead Agile teams to success. - Engage in full-stack, server, and mobile app engineering, providing guidance to technical staff for optimal solutions. - Directly manage a team of 5 to 10 technology professionals, overseeing their performance within the company. Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you will need: - Minimum of 2 years of experience managing engineering teams of 3 or more individuals and 5+ years of software engineering experience. - Proficiency in web client-side technologies such as React, Redux, JavaScript, SASS, and performance optimization. - Mastery in one or more platforms (Web, iOS, and Android). - Expertise in at least one programming language (JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Scala). - Knowledge of scale, microservices, and clean architecture. - Strong familiarity with modern mobile and server coding practices, including SOLID principles and TDD. - Excellent people management and communication skills. - B.S. in Computer Science or a related quantitative field; M.S. preferred. Preferred Qualifications: It would be great if you also have: - Extensive experience across multiple platforms including Web, iOS, Android, and API services. - Previous involvement in managing teams at scale in an Internet company with a high volume of users and transactions. - Background in data-driven companies, including experience with Big Data analysis. - Experience in creating new teams and greenfield projects to solve complex system issues. - Prior collaboration with VP or Senior leadership in a large organization. - Exposure to global projects that cater to diverse markets with distributed data centers and localization of front-end and data. Location: This position is based in Gurugram, India, and a relocation package can be provided.
